Coach North

Ever since he was a kid, Josh has had a deep passion for endurance sports. Over the years, he has competed in running, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, road racing, cyclocross, and triathlons — experiences that shaped his love for training and competition. Today, he’s excited to share the lessons he’s learned and help young, aspiring athletes achieve their own goals.

For more than 20 years, Josh has studied the art and science of endurance training, building plans to reach his own performance goals. He has been fortunate to train under top-level coaches from U.S. Olympic Development and collegiate programs in cross-country running and Nordic skiing. As a top contributor to the UW–Green Bay Nordic Ski Team in the early 2000s, Josh built a foundation of discipline and performance that carried him through years of competition — including multiple marathons, 12-hour mountain bike races, half-Ironman triathlons, and a top-100 finish at the American Birkebeiner Ski Marathon as recently as 2019.

While Josh remains committed to his own healthy lifestyle, his coaching journey truly accelerated when his son developed an interest in running in middle school. By designing tailored training plans and supporting his son’s commitment to improvement, Josh watched him progress season after season — reinforcing Josh’s belief in the power of structured, individualized coaching.

Josh is passionate about helping athletes unlock that same sense of progress and accomplishment. He has led several athlete training camps, currently serves as head track & field coach for a local middle school, and is a UESCA Certified Running Coach.
